Step 1:

Surface Preparation

1. Cleaning Requirements
- New Vehicles: Follow standard PPF cleaning protocols.
- Focus Areas: Thoroughly clean edges, seams, dirt, and sand residue.
- Oily Surfaces: Wipe with high-concentration alcohol (≥75%).
- Used Vehicles: Remove specific components for deep cleaning.
- Edges/Corners: Scrub with nano sponge and foam cleaner.
- Thick Contaminants: Sand with 2000-grit sandpaper.

Step 2:

Installation Solution Preparation

Formula (adjust ratios based on temperature/application area):
- Filtered water: 750ml
- Johnson’s Baby Shampoo: 0.1ml
Instructions:
- Mix thoroughly and spray **evenly in mist mode** on the vehicle surface and
film adhesive side.
- Minimize solution usage** while ensuring film mobility.

Step 3:

Film Cutting

1. Key Tips:
- Color PPF is thick and resilient—**apply controlled force** and **replace
blades frequently.
- For unclear contour lines: Pre-cut roughly, then refine after edge trimming.
- Avoid scratching adhesive or paint during cutting

Step 4:

Film Application

1. Stretching Techniques:
- Stretch the film “holistically” to avoid localized overstretching (prevents
ghosting/discoloration).
- Pre-stretch metal edges for smooth corner wrapping.
- Large Curves (e.g., side mirrors): Use splicing techniques.
- For complex curves: Combine “offset stretching” and “segmented
stretching” to evenly distribute wrinkles.
2. High-Difficulty Areas:
- Blow-dry moisture and use a heat gun at **low temperature/airflow** to
gently press and shape.

Step 5:

Edge Trimming

1. Procedure:
- Rinse edges with water to remove residual solution.
- Dry thoroughly with compressed air.
- Inspect edges for contaminants (oil, particles, moisture).
- Use a heat gun on the adhesive side while pressing with a lint-free cloth.
2. Challenging Areas (e.g., sharp corners):
- Heat the adhesive with a lighter until molten, then press firmly.
- If using a heat gun: Set to 260–300°C and apply with a heat shield pad.
Warning: Avoid prolonged water exposure to the adhesive layer to maintain adhesion.

Additional Notes:

- Replace blades every 2–3 cuts for clean trimming.
- Prioritize dust-free environments to minimize contamination.
- Test heat settings on scrap film before formal application

  • I. Stretching and Corner Tucking

Maintain 15-20cm of relaxed film surface at corner tucking areas.
Avoid localized over-stretching (≤20% elongation within 10cm sections; overall
    elongation ≤30%).
Trim edges promptly after corner tucking to prevent adhesive marks caused by
    film spring-back.

  • II. Recess Bubbling Prevention

Allow the film to naturally conform to recessed areas through adhesive selfbonding.
Use a trapezoid squeegee to flush out trapped water along recess edges.
Never perform squeegee or pressure application when the film is under tension.

  • III. Seaming Techniques

Conduct pre-seaming at mirrors, recesses, and curved edges as needed.
Ensure secure adhesion at seams before proceeding to full-surface installation.
Apply adhesion promoter to pre-seamed areas if required for enhanced
    bonding.

  • IV. Post-Installation Care

Avoid car washes and high-speed driving during the initial post-installation
period. Some installers recommend a 72-hour curing period to prevent film
    displacement or edge lifting.

NEOPPF-recommended maintenance:

Use color PPF-specific maintenance wax and conditioner
Regular application preserves gloss retention and chromatic stability
